5/8/09 John Arens from Road Rider and Cruiser Magazine. I think it was 2 weeks or so ago while travelling home, which by the way is 65k’s away from work I had a truck flick up a stone, not that I saw this meteor coming but it hit directly on the left hand side of the tank and luckily hit the armour, the impact was great enough that the cover popped loose so I just reached down and pushed it back on. Once home I checked the armour out which didn’t even look like it had been hit.
I’ve had some riders stop and ask me what I think of it and given an honest opinion, I think the product is good and has certainly protected the tank from every day sandblasting and the occasional meteor.

After being involved in a stack in October 07, I left the road and crashed through a heap of trees and bushes on my brand new 07 fatboy.
I was blown away afterwards when I noticed that the new tank armour I had just put on for the ride were still in tact and infact still on the bike, being that they took much of the direct hit from the trees.
Sure they were realy scratched up but the tank itself underneath them was still in mint condition,.where it was'nt protected got scratched and dinted.
This has certainly convinsed me that they are a bloody great product.
So dont wait until you get stone chips or scratches, avoid the stress of getting any dings in your much cherished ride and put some on, you wont be dissapointed.
